Description

The Grand Union Canal is the principal navigable waterway between
London and the Midlands though it was never constructed as an entity.
It came about as a result of amalgamations between 1894 and 1929 of
several independent waterways – the longest being the Grand Junction
Canal from Braunston to the River Thames. My 150+ mile journey
begins on the Paddington arm via Little Venice with Braunston forming
a primary landmark of the journey though the ultimate destination will
be Gas Street Basin in Birmingham
