SUMMER NEWSLETTER 2024

Walking Long Distant Pilgrimages For Local Hospice Care.

WALKING THE GRAND UNION CANAL
This marks the beginning of the Summer Fundraising season and there are 3 justgiving pages available for the beneficiaries. There are 2 pages for Cornwall Hospice Care as we are promoting the Gwennap Section of the Cornish Pilgrimage and hoping some of you will register and enjoy a walk around this historic region.
News about the forthcoming-coming Pilgrimages is listed below.

THE OUNDLE PILGRIMAGE

Supporting Sue Ryder Thorpe Hall

Route 1 – The Sue Ryder Trail
Following a 20-mile circular from St Peter’s Church, Oundle, the journey takes in Ashton, Polebrook and historic Barnwell before following a section of the disused Nene Valley Railway. The latter section follows parts of the Nene Way through Aldwinkle and Wadenhoe before crossing neighbouring farm villages linking with Oundle.

Route 2 – The Historic Village and Church Trail
This lovely off-road trail takes in woodlands, riverside paths, crossing several locks and old mills.

FUNDRAISING/REGISTRATION – Supporting Sue Ryder Thorpe Hall.

We encourage individuals to support the charity by paying them a registration fee as a donation to charity.
It costs £10 to register for this walk whether it is on the Pilgrimage Weekend or at any other given time (participant’s choice).
On the day of the Pilgrimage, it is possible to register with the Sue Ryder volunteers outside the Co-op in Oundle or at St Peter’s Church via Robin Moore.
This year we are hoping to have a Sue Ryder Stall in the Square outside the Rose & Crown and possibly some evening entertainment after the walk.

A registration process for future walks may soon be accessible from Sue Ryder Thorpe Hall. Otherwise use the Donate button on the Robin Moore website and mark as Oundle Pilgrimage, or make a payment of £10 at one of the Justgiving Pages.

A Justgiving page is now set up for the Oundle Pilgrimage for those you need to register for the annual walk or simply just make a contribution to support this year’s effort.
